1.What is the sign-up deadline?

For our 2026 fall workshops, we are taking applications on a rolling basis. If you’re interested in the fall semester, we’d recommend applying as soon as you can.

For our next round of 2027 spring workshops, the sign-up deadline is January 31, 2027.

2. When does the fall semester of classes start?

The week of August 26, 2026 for fiction and nonfiction.

3. When does the next spring semester of classes start?

The week of February 3, 2027 for fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and screenwriting.

4. Can I sign up for more than one class—the fall and the spring, or more than one discipline?

Yes! There’s an automatic 10% discount applied if you sign up for more than one class.

5. Are scholarships available?

Yes! There’s a limited number of partial scholarships available for writers of color. To learn more about these, please contact Nicholas Hart at theministryofwords dot assistant at gmail dot com.

6. Are payment plans available?

7. Is there an information session?

Yes! We had a public information session on January 9, 2026. If you missed the session and want to see the video, please email Nicholas Hart at theministryofwords dot assistant at gmail dot com.

8. Is there an application for the spring generative classes?

Since the spring term is generative, there’s no application! Only the fall workshops are application-based.

9. If I’ve sent in an application for the fall, how soon should I expect to hear back?

10. How many participants will be in the fall workshops?

Fall classes are capped at a maximum of ten students per workshop.

11. If I sign up, are refunds available?
